1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the store and fulfil your orders.

• Account and contact details: name, email address, phone number and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
• Delivery details: shipping address, city and delivery notes.
• Order details: items, prices, payment method, order status and history.
• Prescription details: the values you type in or the photo or PDF you upload.
• Messages you send us by email or WhatsApp, and your product reviews.
• Technical data: device and browser type, pages visited and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar tools.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account and process your orders.
• Make your lenses and check your prescription with our opticians.
• Arrange delivery and send order, shipping and return updates by email or WhatsApp.
• Provide customer support and handle returns and guarantee claims.
• Prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
• Improve the website, and send offers or news only if you have signed up for them.

3. Prescriptions and sensitive information

Prescriptions are health-related, so we treat them with extra care. They are stored in a private location, are not publicly accessible and are only opened by our opticians and the staff who need them to make or check your order. You can delete a saved prescription from your account at any time.

4. Payments

We never see or store your card number. Online payments are processed by the payment provider you choose at checkout, and we only receive confirmation of whether the payment succeeded. Cash on Delivery payments are collected by the courier.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Courier companies, so they can deliver your order (name, phone number and address).
• Payment providers, to process online payments.
• Email and messaging services that send our order updates.
• Hosting and storage providers that keep our website and files running.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your cart and wishlist and keep the site working. We may use analytics to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the store, such as the cart and your account, may stop working.

7. How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as needed for returns, guarantee claims, accounting and legal requirements. Account details and saved prescriptions are kept until you ask us to delete them.

8. Security

We use secure connections, hashed passwords, restricted staff access and two-step verification for administrators. No online service is completely risk-free, so please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.

9. Your rights and choices

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop sending you marketing, by emailing contact@chishmish.com. Each marketing email also has an unsubscribe option. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it.

10. Children

Our store is meant for adults. If you are buying glasses for a child, please place the order yourself and provide the child's prescription as an adult.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
